I open Administrator command prompt and run "serversvc.exe -i" to install Backburner as a service I install 3ds Max 2015 with Service Pack 1, Backburner v 2015. I login to computer as the "DOMAIN\render" account so that the profile folders are created. I created a Active Directory account "DOMAIN\render" and gave that account Administrator rights on each computer that will run Backburner Server as a service (serversvc.exe) Here is my setup (which has worked for previous versions of max versions 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014): I have experienced the same problem and solution does not solve it. If 3ds max is executed as a service, there is an error and the rendering is not working. If someone save the file with a scene explorer windows opened, then this window will always open when we load the file.

We had to make this modification for the application and we had some other problems with the max 2015 files. We had some serious problem getting 3ds max 2015 working with Smedge rendering farm.
